About this Event
StartAbility is an event for people with disabilities who are interested in entrepreneurship. It is organised by waytoB Ltd. and a group of volunteers, as part of Startup Week Dublin.
Last year, we aimed to inspire our StartAbility attendees to start their own business. We had an incredible lineup of speakers, such as Adam Harris (AsIAm) and Ailbhe Keane (Izzy Wheels), sharing the positives and negatives of becoming an entrepreneur in Ireland.
This year, we want to help you get the skillset to take your first steps. We've partnered up with the great Jacques Vermaak (co-founder & facilitator @ The Ladder), who will deliver a fun and interactive workshop to give you the tools to get started.
The Lightning Decision Jam is a 1-hour interactive workshop to help you innovate. By making decisions faster and identifying crucial areas that need solutions you can keep moving. The LDJ is built on the core principles of the Design Sprint and works great for any challenge that requires a group of people to make decisions, solve problems or discuss challenges.
David Kerr (Microsoft Ireland) will open the event and share his story as an entrepreneur and accessibility advocate. David has run Start-Ups during the Cloud boom, and worked extensively with the Public and Private sectors. His true calling though lies in working with Accessibility, as the acting Accessibility Champ for the Microsoft disAbility ERG and Board Member for the Irish Chapter of the World Health Innovation Summit (#WHIS) – delivering the UN Strategic Development Goals and revolutionizing Health and Social Care on a global level.
There will be an opportunity for networking at the beginning of the event. Finger food and drinks will be kindly provided by The Digital Hub, who is also our venue partner. The venue is accessible and free parking is available for the duration of the event.
